When and how we earn commission, what we won't take money for, and how to spot an affiliate link.

Waste Free Daily participates in a small number of affiliate programmes. Here’s how that works in plain English.
What an affiliate link is
If we link to a product on Amazon, Etsy, or another retailer, sometimes that link includes a tracking code. If you click the link and buy something, that day, or within a window the retailer sets, the retailer may pay us a small commission. The price you pay is unchanged.
What this means for you
It costs you nothing extra. It does mean we have a small financial incentive to mention products. To keep our coverage honest:
- We only link to products in articles where they’re genuinely relevant.
- We never invent products or invent reasons to mention them.
- We don’t change our review or rating based on whether the seller has an affiliate programme.
- We sometimes link to retailers that have NO affiliate programme, simply because they’re the right place to buy.
Programmes we participate in
We are participants in:
- The Amazon Associates Programme (UK and US)
- A small number of independent retailers’ affiliate schemes
- Etsy’s affiliate programme (occasionally)
What we won’t do
- We won’t accept payment to publish a favourable review.
- We won’t add an affiliate link without a clear editorial reason.
- We won’t hide affiliate links, when they’re present, this disclosure applies.
How to spot them
Any outbound link to a retailer in an article should be assumed to be a potential affiliate link, unless we explicitly note it isn’t. If you’d rather not use the affiliate link, simply search for the product on the retailer’s site directly.
